Amway/Quixtar Products Sold at Loss on E-Bay |

| There has been some hubbub on the Internet about the selling of Amway/Quixtar products on Ebay. Supposedly some people have been informed by the Quixtar Corporation that the selling of Amway/Quixtar products on E-bay is not allowed. This however creates an interesting conflict for Quixtar. On one hand IBOs are supposed to retail products to keep the business free of pyramiding concerns, but on the other hand IBOs are denied a convenient and easy way to retail the products.
The final impetus for this page was when a site visitor tipped me off about a 4 liter bottle of Amway Dish Drops being sold on E-bay for just $9.95. I had guessed the 4 liter bottle would have cost about $32 at distributor cost from Quixtar. |

Well I was wrong, the 4 liter bottle of Dish Drops cost the distributor $31.00, of course without any sales bonus included. Assuming the distributor qualified at 25% bonus level the 4 liter Dish Drops still cost them $23.10. Dish Drops carries PV/BV of 11.25/31.60. A little more searching on Ebay for this person (contact794) revealed 6 complete auctions selling Dish Drops for the following prices $9.95, $9.95, $10.45, $10.50, $13.10, and $18.00. Here our E-bay entrepreneur sells products for $71.95, which cost $186.00, or in the best case $139.60 if they happen to be in the 25% bonus bracket. |

In fact, I searched all completed auctions for this person and found they also liked to sell 4 liter bottles of SA-8 liquid detergent below distributor cost.
The SA-8 liquid detergent has a distributor cost of $34.75 and PV/BV of 14.40/39.80. At the 25% bonus level the bottle costs $26.00 The first bottle was sold for $9.95. The subsequent E-bay auctions went a little better for these products since our E-bay entrepreneur learned to have a higher minimum starting price and sold them for $25 and $26. Here our marketing guru sells products with distributor cost of $104.25 (best case $78) for just $60.95. |

The next core Amway product being sold by this person was SA-8 Bioquest powder in the 6.6 lb box.
The Quixtar distributor price on this is $28.10 with PV/BV of 11/30.20. At the 25% bonus level this product costs $20.55. The E-bay auctions for this product went for $17.75, $18.50, $21.08, $28.30, and $28.30. Again our E2 Commerce entrepreneur sells $113.93 in product which has a distributor cost of $140.50. (best case $102.75) |

Last but no least our E-bay distributor of fine Amway products shows his marketing skill by selling 2-1 liter bottles of Amway's LOC finally making a profit on his first sale. The two bottles of LOC at distributor cost are $6.65 PV/BV 2.75/7.60. Our shrewd E-bay seller sells these for $24.50 and makes their first profit of $11.20 over distributor cost!
So the final tally for the four products from our E2 Commerce entrepreneur is: Ain't it Great! Now I did write "contact794" to see if they were a Quixtar distributor. They did not reply. My guess if they were not a Quixtar distributor they would have said so. A Quixtar distributor could be punished for selling on E-bay if they were found out. |
| Another Ebay "E-tailer" "5548blh" appeared to be unloading inventory loaded product with E-bay auctions. This time there were three sets of "Icook" frying pans and two Espring water treatment systems. | |

The Icook frying pans sell for $336 distributor cost and carry 144/403 PV/BV. The first set sold for $201.50 and the remaining two sets were "Buy Now" for $265 and did not sell |

The Espring water treatment system costs $481 and carries 189/529 PV/BV. They were listed as "Buy Now" for $395 and never sold. The highest bids were $162.50.
It seems many distributors have a hard time selling Quixtar products significantly below cost as well. |
